As runners, we take timing and scoring very seriously as it speaks volumes about a running event's integrity and overall purpose. NYCRUNS only uses hardware and software that has proven success at the highest levels of the sport.Our timing systems are considered to be the most reliable in the sport and our commitment to delivering a professionally timed and scored race is second to none.

NYCRUNS preferred timing solution is the Mylaps Bibtag System. BibTag is a state of the art timing product which is used at races the world over including The Boston Marathon. It is considered by many to be the most accurate timing system with read rates approaching 99.8%. 

BibTag timing is as the name implies entirely contained on the bib. Nothing needs to be worn on the shoe or collected at the end of the race. This makes for a race that requires less volunteers. Runners wear the bib on their chest unobstructed and the equipment does the rest. Our standard BibTag finish line contains a primary and a backup for redundancy and improved read rates. For races of less than 250 runners, NYCRUNS also offers Mylaps ChampionChip timing. ChampionChip is the product that originally defined electronic timing but it has since been supplanted by disposable solutions such as BibTag which are easier to manage for both race directors and athletes. It's safe to say that ChampionChip has been used at one time or another in nearly every important running race that exists on planet earth. You can learn more about the technology here.

For scoring, NYCRUNS uses The Race Director, an incredibly well rounded industry standard package that allows us to deliver results during a race, finalize them and publish them immediately.

Timing Plus

Unlike many professional timers, we take a more holistic approach to our role. Very often, we are the only race management or running professionals involved in a race, and our commitment is to helping our clients improve their events however possible. Sometimes that might even mean discouraging timing!  More often, it means suggesting a vendor or a slight change in approach to an event. Our goal in any professional role is to help put on as strong a race as possible. We also offer race management for clients who prefer more of a partner in the entire process.
