Congratulations To Urban Athetics

 Winner Of The First NYCRUNS

InterClub Challenge

The 2012 Challenge

We're making some changes and have not figured everything out yet. What we do know is that the first two races will be The Cherry Tree 10 Miler (but not the relay) and The Race At Roosevelt Island. The Yonkers Half-Marathon will be included too. We plan to add a race in Queens, Staten Island, and The Bronx and one more in Manhattan and Brooklyn. We'll do that asap. We also want to fine tune points and scoring a bit but last year's system is below.

Points & Scoring

The points system will rewards clubs that travel more. Most if not all races in the 5 boroughs will allow clubs to score a maximum of 10 points. Yonkers and Brooklyn are double points races, allowing a maximum of 20 points. Club leaders and other interested parties are strongly encouraged to make suggestions to improve the system which is not finalized. Please  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Points will be assigned on this basis for single points races, double these numbers for double points races:

1. Any club can score a maximum of 10 points per event (even if there are multiple races).

2. Points are given to runners who finish first or second in a scored category. This could be overall, men's, women 40-49, whatever. Any scored category is a points category.

3. 2 points are given for the highest scoring runner in any scored category.

4. 1 point is given for the second highest scoring runner in any scored category.

5. A given runner can only earn points once per race and the highest point total will be assigned.  So, if you are second in overall women's and first in women 30-35, you would only get 2 points (for finishing first in women 30-35).

6. In the event of a series tie, NYCRUNS will come up with something to settle it that both clubs will agree upon.

7. All other disputes will be settled as fairly as possible. Please  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.   with any concerns.
